Emily Howie has been baking since she was tall enough to reach the worktop
(by standing on a chair) to help her Mum make all sorts of delicious cakes and desserts.

Decorating elaborate cakes was a natural progression and it was through making a number of much loved creations and experiments for family and friends that her talents evolved.  She received her first private commission for a wedding cake (the Helter Skelter) in 2001 and since then has created many beautiful cakes as gifts or for private bookings.

After graduating in 1999 with a degree in Management Studies from the University of Glasgow, Emily discovered her second love - events management.  With more than 10 years experience of planning, managing and hosting a variety of formal events both in the UK and overseas, including her own wedding in 2009, Emily understands the need for a professional and personal service.

“Planning my own wedding was one of the most fun and rewarding challenges I have ever undertaken.  While I did not make my own wedding cake (thank-you Laura for your fantastic and delicious cupcake tower) I realised that I could use my baking and cake decorating skills along with my knowledge and experience of events and wedding planning to help other people in Scotland create their perfect day whether it is a wedding, civil partnership, birthday or other celebration.”

The ‘cutting of the cake’ is one of the most important and photographed moments of any wedding day.  It is an anticipated tradition that demonstrates the pledge of the newlywed couple to support and nourish one another.  Lady Emily aims to provide our clients with the ultimate cake experience.  From your initial consultation right through to the cake cutting and finally eating we will ensure that the whole experience is stress-free and enjoyable and that the cake not only looks the part but tastes absolutely delightful.
